Who I Am

I am a polio survivor who began oil painting as a hobby, which emerged into a full time career when postpolio syndrome affected my life. I paint as an expression of myself and a way to cope with pain.

My first art exhibition was in 2003 at Disability Independence Day in Dunedin, Florida. I have since exhibited my work in museums and galleries throughout Florida and the United States.

What I Do

My artistic creativity has been focused on the cultural beauty of indigenous tribes and nature. My paintings depict the beauty and romanticism of nomadic people living life from the earth, making my art unique, while the animals depict either the gentleness or ferocity associated with their nature.

I am also an Artist in Residency with VSA Arts of Florida, encouraging creativity and sharing artistic knowledge with students who have disabilities.
